Summary or Purpose

All Borough employees who occupy positions where federal law mandates testing shall comply with the requirements of the federal regulations and will be subject to pre-employment, random, post-accident, reasonable suspicion return to duty and follow-up testing.


Provide support services and assistance at the fuel station in the villages.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following duties ARE NOT intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.

Handle collections of fuel delivery fees and pumped fuel at the station.

Responsible to keep accurate records of fuel deliveries and fuel dispensed at the station.

Maintain records and documents of bills produced.

Accurately prepare the required monthly and annual reports.

Perform daily maintenance and upkeep of the North Slope Borough fuel storage facilities.

Maintain oil spill response kits and assist with deployment, installation, removal, or other use of spill response equipment and materials.

Updates and tracks a variety of electronic and paper files, records, reports, and related documents; maintains file integrity and confidentiality by adhering to Department policies and procedures; assures the accuracy of the electronic and paper filing systems.

Enters information into computer tracking systems; schedules, prepares and proofreads documents for distribution; prepares documents, collects data, and copies information from one record to another; trains and coordinates the work of clerical staff.

Researches files to obtain requested information, inserts additional data, and checks accuracy.

Answers incoming telephone and radio calls and directs the caller to the correct person or work group, or take and relays messages as appropriate.

Retrieves and distributes Department mail.

Greets and assists visitors; provides information and assistance within the scope of designated authority.

Maintain absolute confidentiality of work-related issues, personnel records and Borough information.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of North Slope Borough organization, operations, policies and procedures.
Skill in basic mathematical computation.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Licenses Required

High school graduate or G.E.D/or, a combination of 12 years of education and related work experience.

Ability to obtain Spill Response training within 6 months of hire.
